Running can help a 145-lb person to burn 300 calories  (at 5.2 mph) in 30 minutes.  Brisk walking (walking as if you are trying to catch a bus) can help you burn about 180 calories in 30 minutes. Make sure to keep you head up,  your back straight and swing your arms while doing so.

However certain factors such as the unpredictable weather could prevent you from doing these activity and hampering your way to fitness.

  1. The most difficult part of losing wight for me is finding the time to do it- without neglecting my kids. As I was reading a book this evening ( Family Fit by Dr. John E. Mayer, I had an ‘ah ha’ moment… he pointed out that I could correct this problem by inviting my kids to exercise with me. I am So excited… he has pointed out some great activities and some great ways to get my entire family excited about fitness. It is a win- win situation.
