Spice Up Your Valentines With These Aphrodisiacs Meal

February 1st, 2010

It’s the hearts month and we know we couldn’t escape it.  The hearts are all over the place, restaurants and malls,  and no matter how hard we try to ignore it at the back of our heads we wish we will have a romantic dinner with our significant other or our special someone.

But since it’s also the Chinese New Year, expect restaurants to be fully booked and occupied.  I don’t think there’s romance in a crowded restaurant.  It will be better for the both of you if you just stay at home and make a sexy meal for two.

Last Saturday I went to the monthly cooking demonstrations for Dona Elena Cuisinera Club members at Living Well in Podium and we were taught some easy to cook aphrodisiacs meal perfect for a romantic night with your honey.

What are aphrodisiacs?  It is a substance that is said to increase sexual appetite and the name was derived from the Greek Goddess Aphrodite, the god of sensuality and love.

The chef taught us how to prepare a full course meal consisting of a salad, a main dish and a desert.    The aphrodisiacs we used were Oysters for the Pan-Fried Oysters and Aragula Salad with Creamy Dressings; Almond (Nuts) for the Almond Crusted Tilapia Fillet with Pasta and Chocolate for the Chunky Chocolate Cookies. They all taste so good but cooking it with your loved one will make it more fun!  But you can also make a surprise dinner and make him super hot after! Haha!

By the way, aside from being sexy, these meal is super healthy and heart friendly because we used Olive Oil for the meals instead of the regular cooking oil.

See this newly wed couple Jay and Aileen? They enjoyed cooking together and enjoyed the meal too, it’s really a labor of love!
