What does it take for someone to be recognized in the fickle world of fashion?
Knowing the right the people, or rather, being related to the right people, aside from having the talent and eye for aesthetics, would seem to be the usual requirement. But then again, not everyone is born with connections, and even if you do, if you don’t have the right background (education, talent and skill) to boast, your connections will be useless.
Finally, a Fashion Academy in Manila was born in hopes of cultivating a new breed of industry professionals.
The Fashion Academy Manila have in one roof one roof a curriculum for Photography, Make-up, Hair Creatives, Fashion, Styling, Modeling, Artists’s lab and Personality Enhancement.
Classes are expected to equip the students with the right tools as well as the knowledge, experience and insights through mentors who are considered to be professional in the business, according to Center Manager Cindy Arguelles-Lichauco.
To launch the academy and to showcase the talents behind the center, artworks by multi-awarded photographer Xander Angeles, with guest creative director, Raymond Gutierrez and graphic designers Team Manila was showcased last night.
The exhibit was attended by the most prominent names in the industry and showcased photography, graphic design, light and fashion using the cutting edge facilities of the academy.
My question was, that nobody answered yet, was how much would the tuition be in this school? Would it be affordable for those with talent but not so financially free or will it be a super elite academy for those who can afford only? Whatchatink? But as they say, if you want to make it in this industry you have to invest.
Here’s some snapshots from the party last night. I so enjoyed the overflowing drinks , foods and rubbing elbows with the people you wanna rub elbows with, haha!
I think I wanna enroll just to get credentials .
Stay gorgeous everyone!
