I appeal to your kindred hearts to help one of our mommy blogger friends Mylene de Leon, who gave birth to baby boy Alphonse last December 27, 2012. As much as the family was happy to the birth of their new bundle of joy, it was a heart breaking news to learn a few days after that the boy needed an OPEN HEART SURGERY before he turns 3 MONTHS old, best time is to have the surgery at his 6 WEEKS OLD. Alphone was diagnosed to have He has Tetralogy of Fallot. It is a heart disease is the most common cause of blue baby syndrome. To make it easier for you to understand there is a HOLE BETWEEN HIS BOTTOM HEART CHAMBERS causing him to lack enough oxygen supply to his lungs.
They need roughly $12,500 to have the surgery done right away. With that said I am appealing to you in behalf of Alphone, Mylene and their family for any help you can provide. Cash would be the most basic they could ask for, but if there is a Pedia Cardiologist doctor you know who can provide his expertise for free, or if anyone can provide medicines needed during the recovery stage, it will all be willingly and gratefully be accepted. They are still not sure where the operation will be done but it will be probably be on Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
“Every single day, he is trying his best. You will never hear him cry. He cannot even feed a straight 1 oz of milk because it puts stress to his heart. He needs to rest in between small feedings. I cannot breastfeed him because he is not comfortable so I had to pump regularly and give it to him using a feeding bottle. He is fighting and as a family, we want to fight with him,” Mylene said on her very detailed entry about his son’s sitution.
