#NoMoreHiding

04/08/2016

Violence against women is a growing issue in our country .  Here in the Philippines, 1 in 5 women aged 15-49 has experienced physical abuse since age 15.

25% of ever-married women of the same age range have experienced emotional, physical, or sexual
violence from their husbands.

38% of victims never sought help or told anyone about their ordeal. Because many victims have been too afraid to seek help or file reports, the instances of abuse continue to increase.

The worst part is that 38% of victims never sought help nor told anyone about their ordeal.

But as we live and thrive in a generation where anything and everything is shared online, women need the courage to speak up about abuse.

#NoMoreHiding is an online-driven campaign that aims to spread awareness about the issue of violence against women (VAW) and empower victims to find a voice and speak up about their experiences.

This effort is supported by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the Inter-Agency Council on Violence Against Women and their Children (IACVAWC).

Launching the effort.

Following the much talked-about International Women’s Month in March, the #NoMoreHiding campaign launched right after to continue the discussion on women’s issues.

With a seemingly ordinary online makeup tutorial video, we didn’t teach women how to contour, highlight, and conceal. The #NoMoreHiding tutorial encouraged women to stop covering up and start speaking up.

Unbelievable makeup transformationWait ’til you see what’s behind all the concealer and foundation! Unveil the secret behind her look!——–Violence Against Women (VAW) continues to be a growing issue in the Philippines because many victims still choose to cover up and hide instead of reporting their cases. Now, that we live in a generation where anything and everything can be shared online, let’s give these women the courage to open up about their abuse and stop the violence once and for all. Together with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the Inter-Agency Council on Violence Against Women and Their Children (IACVAWC), let’s break the silence and speak up about violence.
