New Dishes to try at 27th St. Bistro by Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

Yes,  Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL)  has a restaurant that serves more than just coffee beverages and pastries, the 27th St.  Bistro by the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. They have two branches that I know of so far,  one at the 5th level of EDSA Shangrila Mall East Wing and the other is at the Net Lima Building in BGC Taguig.

I was invited to try the new dishes they have on their menu,  and even try their House Wines for the Wine Pairing meal they prepared for us.

Of course I sampled both red and white wine.  The white wine they serve is the Beringer Main & White Sifandel 2016 which is a sweet white wine perfect for light dishes like appetizers and white meat like fish.

Then the Beringer Main & Wine Chardonay 2016 red wine that’s perfect for those who like bitter sour tasting wine perfect for a heavy meal and red meats like steaks and porks.

All house wines can be orderd per glass or per bottle. Zifandel is Php295 per glass and Php1,050 per bottle.  While The Chardonay is Php250 per glass and Php950 per bottle.

Appetizer

The five new dishes we tried include the appetizer which is the Burrata, Fresh Tomatoes and Basil.  A ball of burrata served with fresh tomatoes,  basil and grilled sourdough for Php395.

Followed by the Steak in Marsala Sauce with mashed potato (Php555). I think they should ask the customer how they want their steak done. We were served with a medium rare steak which I normally don’t like I prefer medium well.

And the Loco Moco (Php425) which is a grilled USDA burger steak,  topped with caramelized onions,  sunny side up egg and rum gravy served with jasmine rice and grilled pineapple.

Verdict

I enjoyed our meal at 27th St.  Bistro the food is tasty,  serving size is filling good for sharing , plating is really nice price . I love the Zifandel wine if you prefer sweet wine this one is for you.  What I like about the 27th St. Bistro is the ambiance a mix of casual and high end perfect for. Meetings or a not so tight setting kind of date.

Finish your meal with any delectable pastries offered by CBTL, my favorite is the Guiltless Chocolate Cake!
