I witnessed the first morning of the 15th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival at Clark Field Pampangga. We arrived at the venue at 5:45am and we were just in time to see the first flight of all the 14 participating hot air balloons from sponsor companies for the event.
It’s so nice to see the hot air balloons dancing in the sky. I felt like a little girl again fascinated by balloons floating up in the air. It was an amazing experience. I personally saw how an hot air balloon works. A high powered fan is there to fill the hot air balloon with air and when the balloon is full they heat up the air inside by using blow torch. The hot air inside the balloon makes it rise up in the sky. Simple Science that we were taught in school cool air settles down while hot air rises!
The Hot Air Balloon Festival is on until February 14, 2010. Marquee Mall in Pampangga provides shuttle service from the venue and back to the mall and vice-versa. So if you don’t have your own ride you can still commute. Just take any provincial bus going or passing by Clark or Subic, Victory liner has a terminal at the front of Marquee Mall so I guess that will be the best bus you can take. Just go to the customer service of the Marquee Mall and ask for the shuttle to the festival.
Thank You to Moncth and Iris for providing the ride and the lodging. Thanks to Marquee Mall and Ayala Malls for the opportunity and to Eric for the all-access pass and to Jonel for sharing his food and movie passes to me and Imelda and thanks to Azrael and Lace for the company. The trip was all worth it.
