The Amazing Intel Chase

Last March 22, 2011, select members of the press, bloggers and Intel partners were invited to take part of the first Amazing Intel Chase, an Amazing Race inspired game so we can personally experience the 2nd Generation Intel Core Processors that has a number of visually stunning features built right into the chips through processor graphics.

My team, Orange team, Jerry (Intel partner), Calvin (tech blogger)

The Amazing Intel Chase was composed of 5 teams with 3 members each and the prize was a G12 camera for the 1st placer and an iPod Touch 4th Generaton 82G for the 2nd placer.

The race took place in 3 cities, Makati, Pasay and Manila, where we were able to experience the full features of the Intel2 Core Processors.

Our 1st stop was the Digital Alley in Greenbelt Makati where we experience what real high-definition (HD) video at the NEO booth to get to the next level of the game.

Then we proceed to the Phoenix Internet Cafe in Chino Roses where we experience the next generation Intel HD graphics with high resolution details when one of our team members played Starcraft.

After that we went to the Go Kart Track at Boom Land in Pasay City where we get to experience the Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0. This feature automatically relocates processor core and processor graphics resource to accelerate performance, giving the users an immediate performance boost when and where its needed. The Go Kart race goal was to complete 5 laps in 15 minutes where all players have to race. Woot! My first to race! Love it!

Off we go to Museo Pambata in Manila where we experience the Intel WiDi 2.0 or wireless display where users can project their content on a big screen HD TV fast. We got a CD to find out what we should do next and viewed it in a screen without having to use a projector.

Next stop was Fort Santiago in Intramuros where we experienced the Intel Quick Sync Video, where you can easily edit, convert and share videos. Imagine having to convert a 4 minute HD video to play on an iPod in just 16 seconds. We were to recreate Jose Rizals steps and capture it on film edit and sync the content in to an iPod. This is where we got eliminated. Waaaaaaaah!

We were last team to get eliminated, but 3rd place is not bad at all. We fell 1 spot short, because of a hustler Kalesa driver in Intramuros. Yeah, I was still bitter about that, imagine we paid Php800 just going around Intramuros in a Kalesa two times. Ack!

Anyway, it was an Amazing Intel Chase experience and I will do it again in a heartbeat.

Here’s the video teaser of our adventure! Thanks Intel for making me a part of this. Until next time!
