What’s The Dirtiest Of Them All? Nay, Gising!

Old dirty socks?  Nope.  Toilet rim and sides?  Nope.  Trash bin cover?  Definitely no!  It’s …

Last week, I made a poll on my Facebook page to see if my readers know what’s the dirtiest item in their homes but did not know about it.  Fortunately, out of 115 respondents, 93 got the right answer — Bar Solution (laundry bar soap + water + sponge).

This was revealed to us by Philippine Society for Microbiology (PSM)  at an intimate press briefing held at Fully Booked last Wednesday, June 13, 2012.  Dr. . Jessica Simbahan (PSM) said they conducted a study together with a third party research team inside a home and around the items we believe are the dirtiest in the household.  They used a luminometer or germ meter to measure the level of contaminants.  A shocking truth was revealed — that dishwashing bar solution has up to 10x level of contaminants than a dirty sock and other dirty household items!

PSM President Dr. Supachai Basit explains, “A dishwashing bar solution is a breeding ground for contaminants, including bacteria and other types of germs. This is especially true if the laundry bar is left exposed for many hours and the dishwashing sponge is constantly wet.” In a study from Japan that measure the presence of bacteria in household items, scientists found that the dishwashing sponge was contaminated with several types of bacteria: E. coli and Staph. aureus, which both cause food poisoning, and Ps. aeruginosa, which leads to opportunistic infection.

PSM recommends that Filipino moms throw out their unsanitary dishwashing bar solutions. To help protect their family from germs, moms can trust the only dishwashing liquid accepted by the Philippine Society for Microbiology, new Joy Antibac with Power of Safeguard.

Joy Antibac -Safeguard
Joy Brand Manager Ms. Jan Ang shared, “Many moms in the Philippines use a dishwashing bar solution, which is made up their leftover laundry soap, water and a dishwashing sponge. These moms believe they are saving money by using their leftover laundry bar to wash dishes. They do not realize that this bar solution is very unsanitary, especially when the bar solution is left exposed for many hours.

I shared this news to my mom and she brushed it off and said “Sinong may sabi, eh ganyan naman ang ginagawa namin noong unang panahon!”

My mom is one of this culprits who use bar solution for washing dishes, especially when I ran out of Joy dish washing liquid.  Even before this study, I cringe at the thought of using the bar solution for washing dishes and every time we ran out of it my mom would turn back to the bar solution.

Nay, Gising!

Are you also a culprit of  this unsanitary practice?  Better stop now and start using Joy Antibac with Power of Safeguard!  Stop cleaning with germs! Start cleaning with Joy Antibac with Power of Safeguard for 99.9% germ protection.

Stay gorgeous everyone!
