Coco Rocha Leads All-Star Judges for Mary Kay’s Dream Beautiful #MKDreamBeautiful Contest

Mary Kay Inc., the international cosmetics brand, has announced the final celebrity judging line up for its Asia Pacific Mary Kay’s Dream Beautiful Contest. The glamorous beauty contest is a pan Asia makeover competition celebrating the making of Asia’s next modeling star and makeup artist talent.

This year, five celebrities are included in the finals judge panel, headlined by one of the most recognizable and celebrated supermodels in the world, Coco Rocha. Named as one of Vogue’s top 30 models of the decade, Rocha’s work with the world’s top fashion houses – from Chanel to Christian Dior – and top fashion photographers – from Steven Meisel to Annie Leibowitz.

Coco is joined on the panel by Mary Kay Global Makeup Artist and international celebrity makeup artist Luis Casco, who have worked with A-listers from Cameron Diaz to Heidi Klum to Mirander Kerr and had regular TV appearances as resident beauty expert on Mexico’s Next Top Model and the third season of Project Runway All Stars.

Alongside Luis and Coco on the judging panel will also be high-fashion photographer, Jason Capobianco; celebrity stylist, Christie Simpson and top Asia supermodel Cara Grogan, along with Mary Kay Asia Pacific President, K.K. Chua, Mary Kay’s Global Chief Marketing Officer Sheryl Adkins-Green and Mary Kay’s Global Creative Director Stephen
Webster. Much-loved Asia Pacific TV Personality Dominic Lau (E! News Asia TV Host) will once again emcee the competition Finale, to be held on 16th October 2014 in Hong Kong.

The Dream Beautiful Finale judging panel will mentor, train and ultimately judge the Dream Beautiful finalists, supporting them to grow personally and professionally. The judges have been selected on the basis of their abilities to reaffirm the positive values of the Dream Beautiful Contest, which – unlike any other competition in the world – celebrates how women can enrich and transform their lives by working together.

The Contest encourages aspiring models to dream big and beautiful by teaming up with a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant for a makeover. Together, the model/makeup artist pairs compete to demonstrate their skill and beauty to the world. Star judge Coco Rocha shares in Mary Kay’s commitment to supporting women’s causes around the globe and is an enthusiastic advocate for professional rights in the modeling industry.

The competition has drawn thousands of model/makeup artist pairs from nine countries across Asia, including China, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines.

Here in the Philippines, the contest kicked off last April 21. Hundreds of Mary Kay customers partnered with their Independent Beauty Consultant nationwide have joined the
contest, competing to become one of the three finalists to represent the country in Hong Kong for the Asia Pacific Finale.

This year, we will be joined by celebrity make-up artist,Barbi Chan as our local model mentor and judge. Barbi’s skills were honed in several known institutions like the international makeup schools at the Dinair Institute in California, up to Date Academy in Milan as well as having a one-on one session with top American Make-up artist
Pamela Taylor.

The first batch of 20 finalists were already selected last May 2014. The second and third batches of next 20 finalists will be selected on June 20 and July 31, respectively. The 60 monthly semi-finalists will be part of the online voting and judges’ screening phases on August 9 to 18. Afterwards, 10 entries will be chosen to be part of the Local Finale
on September 13. Finally, on September 17, Mary Kay Philippines will announce its 3 winning pairs to represent the country in Hong Kong.
