My Thoughts On The Accountant Movie + Autism

My Thoughts On The Accountant Movie + Autism

I’m not a fan of straight up action movies. You know those pointless gun fight and violence that serves no purpose but stoopidity? When I went to see The Accountant Movie, I thought it is going to be one boring, predictable action film. I was wrong.

Surprisingly the movie has an amazing twist that is very unpredictable. It was so engaging and interesting that will keep your eyes on the screen the whole time. While for some the movie started slow, I was hooked right away because the movie tackles an issue very close to my heart — autism , in its many shapes and form. I actually had a huge lump on my throat after the movie. It was that good it made me cry. This will be second of my favorite movie about Autism , first was Rain Man.

The production was very careful about mentioning autism or autistic in the movie. It was because for some odd reason, in the states, the term is taboo or obscene or degrading. For me, who is a mother of one, I don’t think it is derogatory. It is a medical term and it is a lifetime disability. It is not bad or good , but it is what it is , autism.

Autism is a lifetime disability that involves the brain function and it comes in many forms. It is spectrum that can either one can be high functioning genius, or non-verbal non-accademic and incapable of social interraction person or a mix of the kind. It is not easy to detect someone who has autism as they don’t have physical deformities but you can tell one if you live with one and was trained to handle someone who has it.

Honestly I feel more annoyed when they call my child special child. Eveyrone is special in many ways that we are. Straight up call autism , austim, it is more understandable. Like I said it is not bad or good, but it is what it is, austism.

Anyway, back at The Accountant movie. I love how the movie was done. It is a very intelligent movie that touches the heart and the minds of the viewers. There was a lot of emotional play watching the film and it is not just any action movie to see. I recommend everyone to watch it! I applaud how they did an extensive research about autism as well as I have seen the manifestation of the disorder executed very well in the movie.

Ben Affleck who stars the lead role as The Accountant Christian Wolff did so well in doing his character. He was really good in this movie that I believe this will merit another Oscar nomination for him!

“The Accountant” also stars Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick , Oscar winner J.K. Simmons , Jon Bernthal , Jean Smart, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson , with Jeffrey Tambor and two-time Oscar nominee John Lithgow . Warner Bros. Pictures presents an Electric City Entertainment/Zero Gravity Management Production, a Gavin O’Connor Film, “The Accountant.” The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Movie Plot
Christian Wolff (Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.

Stay gorgeous everyone!
