IT Chapter Two movie review

What Earth Thinks of It?  Her POV

I love horror movies. I’ve seen the first IT movie 2 years ago and I enjoyed it.  I also dislike clowns they look creepy. The only clown I don’t fear is Ronald McDonald.  Anyway, we were one of the first to see IT Chapter 2 Movie last night and I had a lot of good screams watching it.

It has that typical horror movie you get the gory and unreasonable killing. I hate when people just hurt people just because they wanna feel superior.  They are the most unsecured people in the world.

The IT Chapter 2 Movie is 3 hours long approved without cuts by the MTRCB at was Rated R16 so not for kids and not for the faint hearted.

I love movies that have conclusions or good endings.  I also enjoy watching actors I like seeing on screen band together.

IT chapter 2 premise is 27 years after the last IT encounter so expect everyone else at their 40s which I related so much haha. “IT Chapter Two” stars James McAvoy (the “X-Men” franchise, “Split,” “Glass”) as Bill, Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Mama,” “Molly’s Game”) as Beverly, Bill Hader (HBO’s “Barry,” “The Skeleton Twins”) as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa (TV’s “Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments”) as Mike, Jay Ryan (TV’s “Mary Kills People”) as Ben, James Ransone (HBO’s “The Wire”) as Eddie, and Andy Bean (“Swamp Thing,” “Allegiant”) as Stanley.  The kids from the original IT movie also reprised  their roles which is cool.

I like how IT Chapter Two delved deeper into the lives of the main characters and pushing further their fears. This makes it a psychological thriller more than anything else.

While there are some loopholes in the story, very minor ones but noticeable I enjoyed the artistically done gore, the spook factor and how it just delved so much deeper into each and everyone’s deepest fears.

If you’ve seen IT 1 you definitely want to see IT chapter two .  I enjoyed it.  It is creepy but our unfounded unreasonable and deep rooted fears are more spookier.

What  Marcus Thinks of It?  His POV

I grew up knowing about the story of IT, but I never read the book or saw the movie because I’m not a fan of horror films. But…the woman wants me to see this with her, so I’ll go.

Starts off okay. Right away I realize that I missed a lot. They briefly introduce these kids, obviously from the first movie, and then show them as adults. I’m sure if I was a fan of the first movie, I would have found that pretty fun…but since I did not…just a bunch of new characters to me. Other than a terrible hate-crime and brutal killing, it’s a slow start. We get to see all of the characters in their adult life. I guess that would be fun if I knew their personalities from before.

Now they’re on the hunt to kill this thing. I don’t know what this thing is. That’s okay, it’s like most horror movies. I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Yup…I figure it out. It’s like all horror movies. There are no rules. The bad guy likes to torture the good guys for no good reason. Does he do it because he feeds on fear? Not particularly. Maybe. But he makes other victims feel unafraid before killing them…so can’t see that as a reason.
So now they all have to go down memory lane to get the magic they need to beat the thing. Why them? Why not, I guess. Maybe there is another group of kids doing the same thing… we just don’t see them doing it. Anyway, they get tormented by the bad guy, which I guess he does just because it’s fun.
Now they MAYBE figure out how to kill it. And all it takes is their belief. Kind of reminded me of Freddie Kruger…. Turn your back on him to take away his power! Anyway, I can’t figure out if it’s physical, energy or just in their minds. The “solution” makes it feel like an after-school special (you know…a movie they put on TV after school so kids can learn a lesson).

Fun? Sure. Scary? Um.. kind of predictable. Special effects were awesome. Some great images and good fun. But not very clever. Half the scares are in flashbacks, so if you keep that in mind, you know , at least in that part, the good guy comes out okay.
