Shopping For A Smart TV ? Here’s 3 Important Things to Consider

The advent of online shopping has given rise to access to so many more choices than ever before, particularly when it comes to selecting a Smart TV to buy. While access to all these options might make it seem like the choice would be made easier, the opposite is also true – the risk of experiencing option overwhelm is a very real problem! The number of choices and options can pose several challenges when trying to select the option that is best for your taste and budget.

The evolution of resolution.

The resolution of your screen is all about picture quality, which in turn, is determined by the number of pixels available. For a smart TV, the greater the amount of pixels, the greater the corresponding price.

Here’s how it is broken down:

Standard HD models, which also go by the name of 1080p’s have a screen resolution that is made up of more or less 2 million pixels.

8 million pixels is the average you will be looking at when you buy an Ultra HD (also known as UHD) TV. If you do the math, you will see that it is four times the screen resolution of a regular HD set. This results in far greater definition in the picture quality. UHD TVs are often also to be found by their other name – 4K. Mostly found in the latest Smaart TV.

Believe it or not, we are moving into a space where we can start expecting the arrival of 8k TV’s soon – with a whopping pixel count of over 33 million pixels, there is no debate about the fact that the viewing experience can only be far superior to anything we’ve ever seen up to this point.

How big should the screen be?

A central consideration to buying a new TV set is always the size of the screen. The most common screen measurements range between 20-80”, which refers to the diagonal measurement of the screen. The proportions of the room that will contain the TV, along with how it will interact with other furniture in the room are the best guidelines to help you make the decision.

There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to screen size because it is a personal choice that will be made based on space available, budget, and personal taste.  Too large a screen in a smaller room can be hard or distracting to look at, while the same can be true of a screen that is too small.

Resolution can also be a tricky consideration because a lot of the final choices will be dictated by what you can realistically afford. There is a lot of value to be found in online product reviews, to help you get a better idea of how the Smart TV  item you are interested in, performs in real life. If you put in enough research time before handing over your money, you will definitely benefit from the peace of mind that comes with knowing what you’ve bought.
