There’s much of hype about the original Netflix show TRESE. The show was released by Netflix on the midnight of June 11,2021, very great timing for Philippines mythology stories to be released. If you haven’t heard about the comics ,it’s okay, here’s your chance to get acquainted with this award-winning Philippine graphic novel, TRESE.
I just finished watching the pilot episode,.oh yes, it’s a series and I must say I am already impressed, except for the dry voice of Alexandria Trese in the original Filipino dub of the show. I don’t know for the rest of the other languages available but it is available in English dub, Japanese dub etc with subtitles as well.
Anyway, I like how they put all together a very interesting pilot episode introducing way lot of Filipino mythical characters/creatures like Nuno sa Punso, Aswang, Santelmo, White Lady, Lakan etc etc. Yes a lot for a pilot episode.
It may be too fast for those who are not acquainted with such Filipino mythical creatures to follow but it is a good pilot to capture a viewers attention as they get to know Philippine monsters , including the Mayor !!!!
This is a great way to celebrate Philippine Independence Day which is this June 12.
Anyway, I am looking forward to see the rest of the show. It’s about 30 minutes per episode.
