Uniforms Made from Plastic Bottles ! Great Job URGreen Upcycling Uniform Campaign in Thailand

URGreen Upcycling Uniform Campaign

Hi Earthlings! Guess what? URC Thailand is totally rocking the sustainability game with their latest initiative, and I’m here for it! Say hello to the URGreen Upcycling Uniform Campaign, where style meets sustainability in the chicest way possible.

Here’s the scoop: URC Thailand has taken a bold step forward by transforming something as ordinary as plastic bottles into something extraordinary—brand new, super stylish uniforms for their team. And the best part? These uniforms aren’t just a fashion statement; they’re a planet-saving powerhouse!

What’s the Magic Behind These URGreen Upcycling Eco-Friendly Uniforms?

Each fabulous shirt is made from 14 recycled 600ml PET water bottles. Yes, you heard that right! Those bottles you toss out without a second thought have been given a second life. From January to April 2024, URC Thailand collected a whopping 21,000 plastic bottles. And by June, they had transformed them into 1,500 sleek, new polo shirts for their employees. That’s what I call turning trash into treasure!

And the Impact? It’s Huge!
For every shirt, CO2 emissions are reduced by 1.714 kg. Now, multiply that by 1,500 shirts, and you’ve got a total reduction of 2,571 kg CO2e. That’s like planting 215 trees!  How cool is that? URC Thailand is literally sewing together a greener future, one shirt at a time.  They are really committed to their URGreen Upcycling Uniform Campaign.

But Wait, There’s More!
URC didn’t just stop at making the uniforms eco-friendly—they made the entire process a celebration of creativity and diversity. Employees were invited to design the new uniform, and after all the fabulous ideas were in, the design by Vichida Pengnum, the Senior Employee Relations Supervisor, took the crown! To top it all off, the  URGreen Upcycling Uniform Campaign  held a fashion show where employees strutted their stuff, showing off their new sustainable uniforms like true runway stars.

What’s Next for URC Thailand?
This is just the beginning, darling! URC Thailand is already planning the next wave of upcycled uniforms, aiming to create an additional 4,800 shirts. That means they’ll need to recycle another 67,000 plastic bottles. Talk about commitment to the cause! URC Thailand is setting the bar high, and I’m loving every minute of it.

Sustainable Fashion Is the New Black, and URC Knows It!
This isn’t URC’s first rodeo when it comes to sustainable fashion. Last year, URC Flour joined forces with local brands AraPilak and Aecovas Apparel to create eco-friendly clothing using recycled cotton sacks. They’re proving that sustainability isn’t just a trend; it’s the future of fashion, and it’s here to stay.
