Where Have You Been? Scratch It Off In this World Map

As a blogger who loves to travel, I always want a personal record of where I’ve been and things to do when there. When I got the Scratch Map Deluxe Personalized world Map as a present from Alouatta Group last Christmas and I couldn’t be more happier. I’ve always wanted one as I’ve seen some travel bloggers around the world that I follow use it. I was curious and want one for myself to see how many places around the world I still need to see. Or well see how far I’ve covered in the world map.

Scratch Map is a representation of the World Map. The Scratch Map Deluxe Edition comes with a removable layer of foil. You can remove the gold layer of foil to reveal a different color. Scratching off a place in the map means you’ve been to that place. It’s more of a personal record/ map of the places you’ve been around the world.

It arrived beautifully presented in a strong colourful tube rolled around an oil paper to protect the scratchable surface. IThe black and gold colour scheme is very smart so it looks great and attracts attention. I am not convinced about the info graphics along the bottom of the map – they do include some fun items, but I think they detract a little from the overall look of the map. The map is printed on quite heavy duty card, so it takes a while before it stops trying to roll itself back up again. But the advantage of the heavy card is that you are not going to scratch through the printed surface beneath the gold covering.

Watch me scratch off places I’ve been!

After scratching off the places I’ve seen in the Scratch Map, I realized I have not been to lots. At least I crossed the international timeline and have been to two continents. But I have a long way to go.

Did the travel map pressured me to travel more this 2017? Yes and no. Yes because I want to scratch off at least a place in each continent. But I will travel as I please and whenever and wherever I want. This map is just a representation but not something to force me to scratch everything off. I can actually scratch it off if I want to without having to see the place but that defeats the purpose. Plus, the map is already as beautiful as it is without having to gold foil off. I might keep it this way. But I do hope this is a sign of more travels around the world and different continents! Yay!

Oh, one thing I did not like about the map is that you can barely see Asian countries . I can’t see a lot of countries I’ve been in this map. Daya!

Stay gorgeous everyone!
