Last year, Sunlife Financial launched It’s Time, their financial literacy advocacy designed to improve the financial literacy and preparedness of Filipinos. Some of the odds this advocacy would like to change include the following facts:
- out of 100 Filipinos 90% have little or no savings at all to leave their families when they pass away?
- out of 100 Filipinos who get sick 95% sacrifice their saving while 53% borrow funds from family members?
- out of 100 Filipino children who enter elementary school only 10% eventually rgaduate from college?
- out of 100 Filipinos aged 65 45% are dependent on relatives while 30% are dependent on charity?
- 79% said they made them think about financial planning
- 67% said it made them want to buy a financial product for their future
Joining the roster of celebrity Sunlife Financial It’s Time Advocates Pia Magalona, Bam Aquino, James Yap and Baby James Yap, Piolo Pascual is the latest spokesperson for Sun Lifes’t It’s Time campaign, specially on the lesson of proper financial planning in order to protect one’s dreams.
