Speaking of sun, summer is just around the corner, although the weather is kinda nippy (for Metro Manila). In spite of the not so scorching heat of the sun, I still make it a point to wear my sunblock.
“Hindi ko na kailangan yan di naman ako takot umitim. Hindi naman ako takot sa araw.”
“Ayaw ko nyan malagkit saka nakaka-oily,”
“Ang itim mo na nga naglalagay ka pa nyan, may iiitim ka pa ba?”
These are just the top 3 of the things I hear whenever I take out my sunscreen/sunblock and offer it to everyone I’m with on a roadtrip or a volunteer work or just outside. I don’t really mind the question I am used to it already and I never get tired of offering and educating people about their misconceptions about sunblock and why I use it and why I want them to use it too.
Just a week ago, I was able to roadtest the Cetaphil Daylong Solar Protection products (sunblock/sunscreen) during our Habitat for Humanity Build and I must say I am impressed.

Cetaphil Daylong After Sun Repair Liposomal Lotion for Face & Body
How to properly use sunscreen:
- Apply generously to face and body 20 minutes before sun exposure, and allow the product to be fully absorb into the skin.
- Avoid contact with eyes.
- Apply several times in order to maintain sun protection, especially after swimming, drying off and sweating.
- Applying small amounts considerably reduces the protection.
- Avoid the intensive midday sun. Excessive sun exposure is hazardous. Even sunscreen with a high SPF does not provide full protection against UV rays.
- Do not stay too long in the sun, even while using sunscreen product.
- Do not expose babies and toddlers to direct sunlight. Sunscreen products can cause permanent discoloration to textiles and other materials.

What I think of the Cetaphil Daylong Solar Protection Products?
- The Cetaphil Daylong SPF 50+ Face & Body Gel (light gel formulation) is not sticky and heavy on the face. In fact it feels very light.
- It doesn’t make the face oily.
- It doesn’t leave a white mask on like other sunacreen/sunblock with high SPF.
- It is very sheer and has semi-matte semi-gloss finish.
- It also works well under your makeup or powder and it doesn’t make your powder or foundation sticky or cake out.
- I love that it doesn’t smell like sunblock and is fragrance free.
- The best part is that it has vitamin E and doesn’t make the skin feel dry or glossy.
- I haven’t tried it after a pool or beach activity but it does say thay it is water resistent. I will update you all after my beach trip how it is on and after salt and pool water.
- I also love the Cetaphil Daylong SPF 30 Face and Body Spray (liposomal formulation spray) just like the light gel formulation it is not sticky, doesn’t leave a white mask on, doesn’t smell like sunblock and doesn’t leave a greasy oily glow effect. It is transluscent when spread around with semi-matte finish.
- I did not get sunburned and my skin color is still the same before and after the build (sun exposure activity). I was exposed to the sun from 8am to sundown I only applied once.
- Both product, the light gel and the liposomal spray gets easily absorbed by the skin.
- I haven’t used the Cetaphil Daylong After Sun Repair Lotion for face and body as I have not experienced sunburn yet that will require me to use it. But as soon as I use it I will update this post and tell you how was it.
- I used thr daylong yesterday when when I went to see the Pope Francis it was raining but my sunscreen did not budge!
Do I recommend the Cetaphil Daylong Solar Protection Products?
Absolutely! This is my latest favorite sunscreen product so far. My fave part is that it is fragrance free and doesn’t smell like sunblock! Not greasy or sticky and doesn’t give that white mask look!

Now you ask, why do you need sunblock/sunscreen?
- It prevents skin discoloration and pigmentation like melasma.
- It helps to make your skin not look dry and old. If you see sports people who look dry and old that is because they don’t apply sunblock as much as they should. Yes the suns harmful UVA and UVB rays makes you look old!
- Sunscreen doesn’t prevent you from getting a tan but it prevents the direct hit of the skin cancer causing rays on you.
So yes, use sunblock as often and as many as you can!
Stay gorgeous everyone!

Glad you read my review. I do hope you try the product it’s not oily or sticky! I think you will love it!
I would love to try this! With my disease condition (SLE) a sunblock is highly advisable also with an umbrella. Bawal talaga mag sun exposure eh, but living in a tropical country hindi mo naman maiiwasan yun. That’s why I kept looking for sunblock that is light, no white mask, yung smell hindi overpowering, wouldn’t make my face look and feel oily and most especially yung pwede pang everyday. I used Belo sunblock for face and body, medyo oily sa face ko eh.
Glad I’ve read your review. 🙂
