Papa’s 40th Day

Pic of the sky taken the day my dad got cremated at Ever Memorial Cemetery crematorium

(Colleen Hitchcock)

And if I go,
while you’re still here…
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
–behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
–both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
…I will be there.

Tomorrow will be my father’s 40th day (August 16, 2008). In Catholic faith it is believed that this is the time when a departed one’s soul goes up to heaven (ascension).

Interment will be held at 3pm tomorrow at St. Peters’ Parish in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City as we lay my dad to his final resting place and transfer his ashes there at the St. Peters’ Columbarium.

I miss my dad.
