An Eerie Silence At EDSA

I went out to do some errands today particularly to  Shangri-la Mall in Shaw Blvd. Mandaluyong along EDSA and I observed an eerie silence in the streets.  Probably because it was a holiday or maybe this was what “the calm after a storm” was about.

Compared to the common days there were not much vehicles on the street, not much people crowding the sidewalks, walkways and even the MRT.  The silence was comparable to a Holy Week day but this one was different it was not a Holy Week and the silence was deep and felt kinda dead.

There was a nice sunshine above us, like a beautiful summer day.  But instead of a warm, vibrant feeling the summer brings most of the people you meet along the way looked like they were lost.  While some looked confused and other looked empty.   I don’t know, was it just me observing this?

Anyway, I was thinking which place in the country is safest to live where there will be no floods or any type of disaster that can ruin properties and no crooks or leeches waiting to strike when you are not aware.   I know I’m looking for a paradise a heaven on earth which no one has heard of.   But if you are looking for the safest place in U.S. to live, it will be in Pennsylvania.  This was according to a  data collated regarding the lowest crime index in U.S.    I hope they are not racist unlike some other inconsiderate people from Korea and UK saying nasty things about this natural disaster we encountered here in the Philippines.
