The Day I Dealt with a Dangerous Blindspot

It was a day like no other.  I was one of those invited to attend a top-secret event that I had no clue whatsoever what it is all about.  All I know is it is for a show to premiere on Warner TV this September 22, 2015. Little do I know it was the day I have to deal with a dangerous blindspot each one of us face everyday.

The event was held at the Blackmarket in Makati and waited a few minutes before the “stage” was ready.  As soon as we got in, I was kinda anxious on what’s gonna happen next.

While inside the venue, a guy form the BlackMarket intorduced himself and told us that they had a special drink concocted for the event.  They have not released the drink yet and we are among the first to give it a try.  So, everyone took a sip (it was just rum coke to my taste).   When everyoone else was done with their drink, a devilish voice was heard laughing ough the speakers, we were poisoned he said.   We only have 30 minutes to find the antidote or all of us will die!

Two guys came in, one was level-headed and calm. He introduced himself as someone from the FBI, he also drank the poison and is there to help us find the antidote and also find the terrorist out to kill everyone in the building.  The terrorist planted a bomb to spread fear.  Just in time for 911!  The other guy, who also introduced himself as an agent of the FBI was suspicious and high-strung.

Then a woman who was bound with chains on her wrist came running scared from the second floor of the bar, she was crying and frightened.

We all followed her upstairs to talk to the lady.  She looked disoriented and was just wearing shorts and a spaghetti top. She was covered with tattoo.  We asked her who she was and there she told us she can’t remember anything.  Looks like she had a case of temporary memory loss due to bad experience or trauma.  She can’t remember who did this to her but she give us bits of information/ clue that can also help us find the antidote and probably the terrorist out to kill all of us.  She blurted out flashes of memories and so we went to look around for the things she mention to us.  But first we had to unlock her chains.  She blurted some clues on where to find the code on her lock.

A Whodunit envelope was handed to us containing, a pen, a notebook and profiles of the suspects, the staff of the bar, and even the agents helping us solve the mystery.

We went looking around for whatever one word clue the woman mention to us, paper, statue, frame, black light, box, pipe, flashlight, turning table, images, etc.

Running around the BlackMarket, on the next room we found chest boxes that were numbered and locked. We have to figure out how to unlock it by using the clues we had on the kit we found.  It had the combination to unlock it.  Inside the boxes were more clues.  Again we went to ask the lady for clues. Then we go around the place to find it.

This was all a game.  A super fun game by Breakout Interactive to usher in the screening of Blindspot, a mystery TV series by Warner TV revolving on a plot of a woman who was found naked in Time Square in New York with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos.  Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI agent whose name was very prominently tattooed on her.  This woman’s tattoos are cryptic and is is a roadmap to reveal a larger conspiracy of a crime while bringing her closer to the truth about her identity.

The game we played was so close to what we just watched which placed this event off the charts among many Entertainment related event I have attended.  They will not just sit you down, give you popcorn and let you watch a series or a movie, but they will let you immerse yourself in the plot to getfully engaged and interested.  This is the kind of Day I Dealt with a Dangerous Blindspot looking for an antidote, detonating a bomb and finding a terrorist is something you don’t do everyday!

Hats off to Warner TV , Grupo Agatep and Breakout Interactive for such a genius game!I am also proud of myself for being one of the winners in the game ( haha) for being the most involved and telling everyone what to do and what to look for to solve the mystery.  It was fun to be an agent from time to time.  I just don’t know if I can handle the pressure in real life!

This is the second time I had been in a Breakout Interactive Warner event they did, the first one was for the Murder in the First where we had to solve a murder in an hour!

Blindspot is a great addition to Tuesday nights on Warner TV. Airing after the second season of Gotham and on the same day as the US, this crime drama is sure to captivate Filipino audiences. It’s an intriguing, compelling and dynamic TV, with plenty of twists and turns along the way,” said Marianne Lee, Channel Head of Warner TV and Turner International’s Vice President of General Entertainment Content.

#BlindspotonWarnerTV is the brainchild of executive producer Martin Gero who loved thrillers and treasure maps as a kid. “Her tattoos are a treasure map – but with all treasure maps, there needs to be an end point and there needs to be somebody who made it. As we go through the first season, we’re trying to figure out who did this and why. That is the central drive of the season,” he explained.
