Watch Out For Manila F.A.M.E. International Asia’s Boutique Show

On April 22, 2010  the longest-running trade haven for home and fashion lifestyle products in Asia Pacific and the only trade fair in the Philippines recognized by UFI (Union des Foires Internationales) will open its doors to all buyers who are looking for unique and high quality designer specialized products.
Formerly known as the Manila F.A.M.E. International, the Asia’s Boutique Show,  will start trading on April 22 to April 25, 2010 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.  All boutiques included in the trade fair  will  offers unique, trend-setting, high quality products, a perfect place for discerning customers to fine the best products they are looking for.
The Asia’s Botique Show will be consistent on the impression the Manila F.A.M.E. International has made for years, and will continue to be a design show where customers will see new trends and innovative material and application on home and fashion lifestyle products. Japan, through the Japanese Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) will be the partner country for this year.

  • Icons
Two world-renowned designers whose works have warranted them to become icons in the Philippine furniture and fashion design industries will be featured in the design exposition.
Antonio “Budjo” Layug,  a founding member of Movement 8, has always been an advocate of local materials and traditions, designing furniture and spaces that echo his personal philosophy of “maintaining a harmonious balance between ethnic grace and cosmopolitan elegance and simplicity.”  Unconventional and cutting-edge, he pioneered the concept of tropical modern through his Giant Bamboo Collection, which paved his way towards international recognition.
A living legend in the Philippine fashion industry, Benjamin “Ben” Farrales has been transforming indigenous materials into stunning masterful creations for more than half a century now. What comes to mind at the mention of his name are his Muslim-inspired creations that fuse indigenous materials with tribal elements, turning ordinary ubiquitous clothing into extraordinary must-have pieces. He has been recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Filipinos of 2005 and is the only Filipino fashion designer, to date, to produce a well-received fashion show at Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center.

  • The Green Fashion Design Competition for fashion design schools/students
Eco-passion and fashion come together in the design challenge for Filipino fashion design students.  Seeing the importance of breeding new talents, Manila F.A.M.E. continuously seeks new ways to create a venue for aspiring designers to further and hone their craft.   Twenty-seven students of fashion design schools bring their A-game and work their way to become the next eco-designer.

  • Music Beyond Borders

Drumming up the excitement is a  multi-genre presentation featuring top Filipino performers of pop, rock, jazz, world, dance/electronic, and classical music at the Manila F.A.M.E. Mabuhay Networking Reception Night to coincide with the launching of Music Beyond Borders, a program which aims to promote Philippine music in the international front.

  • Dutch Design

A selection of products developed by Manila-based Dutch designer Natalie Buijs Meijer together with the Dutch Design and Development Program. and CITEM to promote Dutch

The collection is a project by Royal Netherlands Embassy and CITEM  to promote Dutch design philosophy and culture, integrating them in some of the show’s product designs.

There will also be an Art Market, Wellness Corner and Packaging  Showcase in the event among others.
