Freeway Masters Series: Juan Luna Holiday Collection 2013 Launch

One of the artist I admire is Juan Luna who is the first recognized Philippine artist in the 19th century.  Spolarium is one of his most popular painting and because of that he is more known to be the master of magnificent works depicting realistic and dramatic styles of art influenced by the time and places he visited.

There was no better place to hold the launch of Freeway’s first Masters Series for their Holiday Collection 2013 featuring Juan Luna but at the Lopez Museum where a number of his paintings were displayed for everyone’s pleasure. Most of the artworks displayed in the showroom are the ones that are made to life by Freeway through a collection of dresses and tops that definitely suits any modern and trendy Filipina.

This  was actually my first visit to Lopez Museum and I’m glad I was early for the event that I was able to enjoy each and every art piece in the gallery.  Too bad I did not take pictures as although picture taking is allowed (no flash photography though) I was too immersed to admire the paintings and learn more and more of Philippine history.  Aside from Juan Luna’s painting there are other paintings by other famous artist in there too.  Plus historical literature that are originally owned by Jose Rizal himself.  I even saw a World Map that didn’t have Philippines in it back then!  It was an amazing museum tour I had.

Here’s the sole photo I had in the museum with Juan Luna’s painting by my side!
