Spaghetti, Fettuccini, Penne Rigate, Lasagna and Fusilli. I’m sure you know all these pasta type. But do you know that they are made differently? And how your pasta taste depends on its cut.
Did you know that there are two ways to make pasta? And this two ways makes for a better pasta. There’s bronze die and teflon die cut.

Few more things to know about pasta:
- It is healthier and it is non-fattening! In fact it is healthier than you think because it has : protein, antioxidant and fiber because its made of hard wheat.
- Pasta is not fattening because it is made of whole wheat/ hard wheat (just don’t overeat)
- Your pasta gets healthier with the type of sauce you add to it! Most are tomato based full of anti-oxidants, vitamin C.
I learned all these at the Doña Elena Al Denta National Pasta Month event held at Blackboard last Saturday.

Doña Elena Al Dente is the only Artisan Quality Pasta made of 100% durum wheat semolina or hard wheat. It uses bronze die which leaves rough surface that creates ridges on the pasta. The ridges help sauces stick to the pasta better. Doña Elena Al Dente has 13% protein, GMO-free and 100% all natural.

Chef Michel Cottabaren also shared his pasta recipes using Doña Elena products and judged the Make Your Own Pasta game for bloggers who attended the event.

So now that you have all these info about pasta when somebody ask how do you like your pasta? Say Al Dente!
How do you like your pasta? Of course we want it Al Dente or firm to the bite. We don’t want it any other way.
And yes, this event happened during the Woeld Pasta Day last Saturday, a perfect way to spend it by learning, cooking and eating pasta all afternoon!
