Last night (July 23,2018) we went to advanced screening of Mission Impossible Fallout at the SM Megamall IMAX Cinema. The movie runs for a good 2 hours and 27 seconds.
Tom Cruise reprises his iconic role, Ethan Hunt, together with his IMF team, Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames. Also coming back for more action are the leading ladies, Michelle Monaghan and Rebecca Ferguson. Angela Bassett joins the cast as the CIA superior and Henry Cavill as the deadly CIA assassin, August Walker.
What I think of it? HER POV
I have been an avid follower of the Mission Impossible franchise and I was more than excited to see their latest addition to this movie franchise.
It runs for over two hours but it did not have any dead scenes . The emotion built-up did not plateau and I super love the fight-scenes /chase scenes !
Mission Impossible: Fallout definitely set anothe bar and innovation when it comes to chase fight scenes. I am amazed with Tom Cruise dedication with his action scenes and all that running and jumping he did!
Henry Cavill was also an effective bad guy, I forgot that he is Superman! (You have seen some preview of MI6 right he and Tom fights a lot) Or maybe a preview of how bad he can be was seen at Batman vs Superman, he was an effective actor a good one at that for pulling this off! (You have seen some preview of MI6 right he and Tom fights a lot)
Like other previous Mission Impossible movies this one took us on a scenic and touristy route of Europe which makes me want to go all the more!
Definitely a must-watch especially for MI fans .
What Marcus Dreeke thinks of it? HIS POV
Dah.. dah.. dun-na-na, dah dah dun-na-na.
I was really looking forward to watching Mission Impossible: Fallout. Spy movies are some of my favorite. It was really hard to avoid all the previews and promos and discussions about the movie, but I did good. I went into the movie with no spoilers..and then, during the opening title sequence….are those…yes they are!! Clips from the movie we are about to watch are flashing on the screen as the fuse burns and titles appear. Look away!
The movie starts and it is full-on Mission Impossible. Non-stop action, One-liners, high tech stuff. The storyline was pretty good, though a bit confusing if you don’t know all the names and history of the series, but overall it makes enough sense for a newcomer to understand. Some things were not very realistic and written in to make things more complicated for the team, but it is a movie, so that’s okay. There were a few typical Mission Impossible tricks, but I was able to predict all of them as they were happening. But that’s because I’m practically a super-spy myself. I often talk into my watch…but nobody talks back.
You are probably not going to have any trouble convincing your date to see this movie. Tom looks good, as always, except maybe when he runs. Unfortunately, not much eye candy for us guys, so you’ll have to be satisfied with bad-ass fight scenes and car chases, but I suspect that will be enough.
