Aside from all the makeup launch and events I’ve attended, I don’t consider myself as a makeup artist since I’ve never taken up any formal makeup class ever. When I learned about the advanced makeup class offering at Shu Uemura I was half.wanting to take it and half not since I never took up a basic makeup course yet. But Ms. Nina Solano, Brand Manager for Shu Uemura Philippines convinced me otherwise. She said I know the basics well enough to go advanced. So I did in hopes that I do really know enough to pass!
The Shu Uemura Advance Class outlined some requirement from their Deal Grocer ad which included bringing your own makeup and makeup tools.
I had most of my makeup packed and ready for battle!
I was excited and didn’t know what to expect so I got almost everything I need.
As soon as I arrived at Shu Uemura Rockwell, that is where the intimate classes were held, (intimate is nothing more than 6 in the room! ) I was greeted by the friendly faces at Shu.
I was immediately taken to my makeup table with all the beauty stuff from Shu (*drools*) The class handouts were given and some forms to fill-out. Then John Pagaduan, our instructor came with his makeup apparatus! (*drools even more!*)
Introductions were made, we were only three (3) in the class, Vanessa and Angela with her model Rizza.
We had a few refresher on skincare routine and preparing the face before putting on makeup. We need not use our own makeup as our teacher John lend us everything and there were Shu Uemura goodies in each table for our use! Hoorah!
John taught us some tricks and gave some useful tips I definitely can and will apply to my “practice”.
It was a six hour class that felt like 15 minutes! I wish it was longer so I can learn more tricks from master John!
We created four different looks in 6 hours for the advanced makeup class, it was so fun I enjoyed the class and my classmates were fun to be with.
Here are the four looks I created:
Healhy Glowing/Luminous Look
Day-to-night makeup / Point fix/ Accent
Light Smoky Eyes
Runway
John wanted me to try putting on ine of his falsies collection just like what he did for Vanessa and Angela-Rizza. Our runway looks!
I learned so much in six hours! If all makeup class are like this I’ll take more to gain more.knowledge. I’m sure I can pick up a trick.or two from each makeup artist I meet. Learning is so much fun!
The class inspired me again to do more EOTDs for this blog, just you wait!
Anyway, the deal at Deal Grocer for the discounted makeup classes is over so I suggest if another deal comes, grab it, its so sulit!
