An Open Letter To My Fellow Bloggers: Have Respect With Yourself

To my dear fellow bloggers,

First off, I would like to tell everyone that I am not a perfect person or a blogger. I do those petty blogger mistakes that I wish I did not do but have done and so I charge it to experience. I sometimes “discriminate” fellow bloggers because of personal reasons and well sometimes I get influenced by the people around me. I often get accused by some PR or advertising networks as “brat” or “bitchy” or “snob” because I am very much frank about telling them that I/ bloggers owe to be treated better than what they are doing to me/them. If they are not nice to me or if I was not a friend of the PR person first before having a business deal, I would not rather close a deal/partnership with them if it does not work with my terms.

Anyway, this post is meant for my fellow bloggers who seem to have gone way too low with the way they handle themselves. If you want to be treated as a royalty, act like one. Have respect with yourself. Remember, you are only treated the way you let people treat you and how you think of yourself. I don’t say be a b with an itch or command everyone like you own the world. I’m sure you get my drift

There was a news that reached me that there were bloggers/blogger who shoplifted at a shopping event with a very popular clothing brand. I will not get in too many details of the said event or brand but the “crime” was caught on CCTV!

My dear fellow bloggers, please have respect with yourself. Gatecrashing can still be excused. Hoarding loot bags can still be excused… but SHOPLIFTING is a crime and the lowest of the lows. Please have respect with yourself, you are not worth that item you shop lifted. If you don’t have money don’t attend shopping events, I know it is tempting not to get almost everything you want. If the item is too pretty, fit it, take a photo of it in the fitting room, adore yourself wearing it, but don’t run away with it thinking you will not get caught! Or ask for a pull-out. Please! Respect yourself I beg you!

If you don’t respect yourself that much then respect the “title” you are flaunting as a “blogger”. Don’t paint a bad image of bloggers everywhere, not everyone is like you! Have decency.

Best,

Ms. Earthlingorgeous

P.S.

Before anyone else does their own “the-who” blind item!  This was not from the Uniqlo event I just attended earlier, the Uniqlo event earlier is not a shopping event but a styling event.   Thank you!

  1. Such a disgraceful act! Thanks for posting this. I don’t know what to say… Those so-called “bloggers” put us other decent bloggers to shame. They should be fed to the lions.

  2. OMG! What a revelation and this is so shocking. Hope PR people won’t generalize us bloggers to be like that 🙁 I mean whoever that person is (which I definitely have no clue at all as I rarely attend shopping events), learn from this mistake and how I hope this incident is not true as the blogging community might be affected.

By the way, it was only yesterday at the Uniqlo event that I saw you in the flesh. I just dunno if you can recall me:) hihihi Nice!

  3. Hello Ellen, No, this was not from the Uniqlo event di naman shopping event yun eh 🙂 this is not an accusation if you read I said this was caught on CCTV and a Trad media caught them as well, and the PR being responsible for the presence of the bloggers in the event talked to these people, fortunate for them they were let ko and wala nang picture na “Shoplifter Ako!” or else what a hshame!

  4. I totally agree with what you said here. I have heard bloggers hoarding freebies and gatecrashing but shop lifting is just so low. I do not get invited to shopping events, but when I do I save up enough money so I can purchase what I like there – Basically that is just wrong. I hope whoever is that blogger who shop lifted he/she should learn to know his/her self worth, that thing you stole is not worth your dignity. I just hope he/she reads this and thinks of what he/she has done. tsk tsk.

  5. If the brand you are referring to starts with a ‘U’, then we attended the same event and I can’t help but wonder who the “shoplifter” is among the bloggers present. I don’t really know a lot of them personally but I am hoping that this crime is an unfounded claim or a false accusation… I suggest the PR call the attention of the ‘accused’ blogger and file a case if they have proof so the guilty would be penalized and the decency of the whole blogging community won’t be tainted in such a distasteful and degrading way.
