How could we forget the 1980’s? I think that decade was one of the most fun decade I could ever imagine. Big hair, weird clothes, pop culture.
It was also the time I started to appreciate music, pop music that is especially of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, The Menudo, Boy George, Whitney Houston, Laura Branigan, Culture Club and yes even Rick Astley.
It was the time of ET, the Karate Kid, Dirty Dancing and The Terminator and my favorite cartoons were Rainbow Bright, The Smurf, Transformers and yes the turtles in a half shell shouting “Turtle Power!”, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Those were the days when MP3 players was not even conceived and that easy and light-weight music player was still unknown.
I learned to appreciate music and dancing at an early age, thanks to our Sony Stereo Receiver and Cassette Deck.
According to the the note on the back of this photo, this was taken on September 5, 1982. Which means I was just four (4)years and eight (8)months old . I was the one wearing the Hi! shirt. The teenage girl was my cousin Yey, next to me is my older sister Olay, my cousin Allan and my deceased cousin Junior. After some posing for the cam, it’s time to dance! That is my cousin Marivic, I think we were dancing to the tune of Shake Body Dancer! We were practicing for some occasion in the village we live. Yes at a young age I am a stage performer I like to be on the spot-light. Every village occasion mark it that me, my sister and my cousins will have a dance number! With my cousins, whom I live in the same apartment complex, I learned how to dance to the tune of Fame, Rico Mambo, Venus, Shake Body Dancer, Name Game, Footloose, Karma Chameleon, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Money Changes Everything, Material Girl, and She Bop. Actually, I can still remember some of the steps until now.
Those were my very young memories and first experience with a Sony. My moments with a Sony doesn’t really stop there I have a lot of fun-filled first memories with a Sony like with the Betamax, the Walkman, Discman, Taperecorder and a Digicam.
Sony was definitely a part of my growing up and every milestones I could ever remember through photographs. It definitely gave significance in my life just like the Sony’s World’s First RGB LED Backlight LCD TV: Bravia X450, which will definitely give me an awesome movie and TV watching experience.
