Fashion Fights Cancer Annual Holiday Party 2012

I know most of us, if we have the opportunity, would love to help out as many causes and advocacy as possible.  But our lack of time and or energy prevents us from doing so.   There are many ways we can help, either by donating or by active participation, or by socializing such as the Fashion Fights Cancer Annual Holiday Party where patrons and supporters come together to mingle , enjoy exhibit and talk about the recent developments in their advocacy and organization.

On December 10, 2012, Fashion Fights Cancer will hold their annual holiday party taking place at KTCHN in the OUT Hotel in New York.  The event will feature a visual pop up gallery of 20 inspiring photographs of FFC participants captured through the lens of renowned photographer Giovanni Zaccagnini Chanel’s Campaign Model Saskia De Brauw.   The theme revolves on  FFC’s “Message of Life” a photo journey following the joyous participants, encapsulates the program and portrays the intimate side of healing through self-‐sustainability and the FFC initiative. CFDA Jewelry Designer Pamela Love will debut her Love Wheel Collection, in which she taught seven of FFC patients to design their own jewelry in which will support future programming including donate to cancer research initiatives via cureLauncher.com .   New York’s “IT” girl spinstress DJ Kalkutta will make everyone groove the night away with her music.

Fashion Fights Cancer’s (FFC) mission is to nurture the minds, bodies, and souls of cancer patients through Cancer Survivor Program fashion-‐ and design-‐oriented activities. FFC’s Therapeutic Workshops and Seminars are (free) to cancer patients and survivors. These workshops and seminars use fashion-‐ and-‐design related disciplines in a variety of activities that act as soothing therapy. Studies have shown that activities such as the ones we offer reduce suffering and anxiety of the participants. FFC galvanizes the support of New York City and the international fashion community to raise awareness and funds for cancer research and therapeutic programs. Fashion Fights Cancer engages the medical and fashion communities to help combat this disease. Critically-‐acclaimed designers who have donated their time and/or resources to help FFC with our programs and events include Carmen Marc Valvo, Tracy Reese, Byron Lars, Monique Péan, Herve Leger, Kristi Vosbeck, Joy Cioci, Tadoshi Shoji and Saskia De Brauw
