For those who earn with their blogs like me, blogging is a serious business. Server downtime or an unreliable web host can be very frustrating for us because that means an income lost for us. It’s true that we enjoy what we do when we blog but that doesn’t mean we are not serious when doing something related to our business.
The first time I got my own web host I got one of those cheap deals from a reseller with a mindset that I don’t really need the expensive ones because I am just blogging for fun and the income was just the perks of this hobby. I was surprised with the outcome of my blog especially my blog traffic that I had to upgrade my subscription from that webhost. There was a time when all my post got lost but thankfully my host was able to retrieve them.
However, that was not enough either and my blog went crazy. Some can see my blogs, others can’t, including me. There was some internet service provider issues that a certain ISP provider here in the Philippines could not view my blog. I think that was crazy and so I switched to a bigger web host provider and not from a reseller.
That is what dedicated servers are for. For serious blog or websites with serious business. They are the sites that have millions of traffic daily because they need fast server response compared to a shared hosting. They are the ones who need a dedicated server for every website and need experts to run their blogs. Of course my blog hasn’t reached that level yet, but who knows, right? But for now I am happy with my web host.
