What a better time to know more about Blue Peel and other skin care treatments but in a night of chit-chat with a handful of beauty bloggers and skin care experts from the House of Obagi (HOO).
I myself was scared of having a blue peel treatment because as much as the rave about it sounds really great, I dunno how I can deal with the downtime (downtime being the obvious peeling process where your face is blue and flakey and you actually look 100 years old even if you are not). I honestly don’t think I can go out looking like that.
However, after hearing testimonials from Angela of Lush Angel, Sophie of Beautynomics, Jill of Kikay Exchange, Rowena of Animetric’s World (whom I saw her downtime a couple of times) and HOO dermatologist I am more likely to try the treatment myself.
What is a Blue Peel?
According to the info HOO provided, if you’re looking to accelerate your transformation with a chemical peel procedure, then the Obagi Blue Peel System may be right for you.
Obagi uses Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) as the active ingredient mixed with the patented Blue Base from Obagi (ergo the name Blue Peel). They will apply it on the level of your skin damage and your expected result. The procedure will take less than an hour and will be applied on your face and neck. A mild burning sensation will occur that generally lasts only a few minutes. Then you may experience a bluish tint to your skin that usually washes off in 12 to 24 hours.
Within two to three days, your skin will begin to peel and the peeling will continue over the next several days. When peeling stops and healing is done ou will notice a visible improvement in your complexion. Your skin’s appearance should continue to improve for the next four to six weeks, becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier and more youthful looking.
We also talked about Elastilash, an eyelash treatment that promises thicker if not longer lashes. Nikki of Ask Me Whats can vouch for this!
HOO also introduced their latest skin care treatment system the Obagi 360. Dubbed as “The Complete Obagi System”, Obagi 360 contains: the Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel, Toner, Clear, Exfoderm, Blender, Physical Sunscreen SPF 32, Pro-C 10%, Elastiderm Eye Cream, and TR Complex. When used together under the guidance of an Obagi-affiliated dermatologist, these products synergistically work to give you your best skin ever. Tempting!
Actually after Angela spoke I was sold out! If you can see this beautiful girl and her beautiful skin and her positive aura, you’d be convinced to do any beautification procedure she will tell you did with herself haha!
Sophie gave us an idea of the best time to get the treatment! During the Holy Week break when we are all forced to stay home because everything is on a holiday!
