I was one of those who walked without shoes in the city last week and it felt empowering. Not just because we were able to own the bustling city with our barefoot, but because we was able to help some children in need.
Watch the walk here:
The walk without shoes event happened at the Track 30 of the Bonifacio Global City just opposite of the High Street.
Carlos Celdran and Rosario Hererra hosted the event as there was a hipie indie fair type of thing going on the field.
Food, music and games were happening in the field as everyone awaits the commencement of the symbolic walk around the High Street.
It was Carlos Celdran who walked us around the high street just like what he does for tourist at the walled city of Intramurous.
We walked on cemented street, pathways and pavements and even on grass.
But that cannot compare to what the underpriviledged kids experience everyday of their lives.
Rocky roads, pebbled streets and muddy soiled paths, it looks cute on photo, but it kinda hurts stan standing for even a few seconds to take these photo on them. Imagine how those kids without shoes felt like?
HAPPY FEET!
HAPPY PEOPLE!
Yes we all are happy to have walked without shoes in the city because each of us were able to give a pair of shoes to those who needed it the most. These happy people are Maya, Krissy, Ruth, Rodel, Paul, Ava and Ana (sorry girl with a hat I dunno your name 😔).
