If you were given a chance to take a peek into the future, what’s gonna happen to the world as we know it would you grab the opportunity to do so?
If you were able to see how stupid we were knowing that we are destroying our planet with the little things we are doing now would you change your ways?
Did you know that the flooding in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, La Union, Cordillera, Laguna and Batanggas is just part of what’s to come if we don’t clean up our act now?
Last September 22, 2009 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) I was able to take a glimpse of the future and the effects of Global Warming and the Climate Change theory. When the movie The Age of Stupid had a global premiere that day. “The Age of Stupid movie is a serious documentary dressed up as a futuristic climate thriller, with a few bits of animation thrown in to help explain the underlying science.” I wish this movie will be given the full attention it deserves.
“We could have saved ourselves, but we didn’t. It’s amazing. What state of mind were we in, to face extinction and simply shrug it off?”Pete Postlethwaite’s character says in the movie who was portraying the role of an ageing archivist who was looking back from the year 2055 on a world devastated by climate catastrophe.
Hopefully everyone can get a chance to watch this movie which will be having a “green carpet gala” on October 13 at the Glorietta 4 in Makati at 7PM. Here is a trailer of The Age of Stupid:
