Aiming to help train and motivate young Filipinos and other nationalities to prepare for and excel in international-level hospitality work environment culture, the Andrew Tan-led Alliance Global Group Inc., and Hong Kong-listed Star Cruises Ltd. will open the Genting Star Tourism Academy (GSTA) in August this year. This project is connected with the Tourism City/Resort World that will open in the Philippines soon.
GSTA is equipped with high-industry training facilities and resources and is manned by locally and internationally certified trainers who have vast years of industry-based international experience/exposure in the curricular program regarding hospitality trainings. GSTA offers courses according to the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) through its academic partnership with the Australian Hotel College (AHC) based in Midland Australia and approved by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The academy is duly registered with the Security and Exchange Commission in March 2009.
Certificate Courses Offered (Classes will be held from 9am-5pm Mondays to Fridays)
Certificate II in Housekeeping (3 months course P50,000 Tuition fee)
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude of staff in the art of Housekeeping. Specifically, it covers providing housekeeping services to guests, preparing room for guests, cleaning premises, providing valet service, and laundering linen and guest clothes.
Certificate II in Front Office (3 months course P50,000 Tuition fee)
This course covers the knowledge, skills and attitude in Front Office services in accordance with enterprise standards. It covers basic common and specialized (core) competencies such as receiving and processing reservations, operatiing computerized reservation system, providing accommodation reception services, conducting night audit, providing club reception services and providing porter services.
Certificate II in Food and Beverage (3 months course P50,000 Tuition fee)
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude of any bar and restaurant staff on food and drinks preparation and service. It includes competencies such as providing link between kitchen and service area, providing food and beverage and room services and the significant updates of the food and drinks industry including hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs , canteens, resorts and luxury cruise liners.
Certificate II in Culinary Arts (6 months course P160,00 Tuition Fee)
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude of any kitchen staff on food preparation. It includes competencies such cleaning kitchen areas; cooking hot and cold meals; and preparing portion and plate meat or food to guests in hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs, canteens, resorts and luxury cruise liners.

Hi Darlene, You should come to Lucketts some year dunrig our Spring Market, in May. In addition to the 3 buildings, extensive grounds, and multiple outbuildings that we have crammed full of stuff, dunrig Spring Market we also take over the community center next door and squeeze in several hundred more dealers over there!
