Recycling Project 2: DIY Bracelet Holders

If you read my Earth Day 2013 post you will see how I recycled the press kits including gift boxes, paper releases, and CDs and transformed it into useful things in the house. I really really hate throwing things that are still useful or in good shape.  But what I hated the most is throwing away plastic waste and yes CD press kits!

For this Recycling Project 2 I made a DIY bracelet holders to keep those pretty little things organized and I don’t need to dig into the pile of them in hollow boxes!

What you need:

  2. Super Glue (Php60.00 for 5pcs at the everything 60 store)
  3. CDs/DVDs (Free from press kits)

  • Put a glue on the bottom of the bottle.
  • Let it dry for a few seconds
  • Stick it to the center of the CD
  • Optional: Place two CDs/DVDs together with the silver part exposed to make the “plate” thicker and more durable.

I’m planning to DIY me a Leather Duffel Bag but it looks like I won’t be able to make one as good as the ones made by Ghurka who is known to make designer leather bags for men. Their design is so classy and intricate that there seems to be a lot imitating them. While browsing through their site it is only now that I realized that satchels are actually men’s bag.. But since women dominate fashion, shopping and style we made it as our own. Just like jeans and trousers, they used to be men’s clothes but women wear them everywhere. On the flip-side, men who will try to wear skirts will be mistaken for those from the third sex.

How about you have you done any recycling projects too? What did you make?
