Some people will get mad at me for saying this but I just want to say that Pinoy is right this time. He doesn’t need to attend the wake of that Jennifer “transgender woman” coz he doesn’t know her. Why?
1. Please don’t compare Jennifer to Sen. Ninoy and Pres. Cory Aquino. They were top government officials, even a hero to most. Strangers will definitely attend their wake coz probably they voted for them or were influenced by their existence as President or Senator and even a tool to end Martial Law.
2. Jennifer is definitely a stranger to PNoy. If you insist PNoy to attend her wake, then you might just have to ask or rather compel him to attend all the wakes of every Filipino citizen who dies brutally or not. Leaving him to be just attending burials and wake for the rest of his last 1 year tenure.
Jennifer’s case is controversial yes, because of all the circumstances involved. Being a transgender, being the suspect a U.S. army, being it happening brutally. But case at point, she has a fiance and yet she was going out and going in motels with stranger Americans (I am always against cheaters!) . What is she doing? Pemberton does not have the right to kill her whatever the reason was if it was true that he killed her, heaven knows. But please don’t make the highest government official of the country to go to that wake. It is not necessary, in my opinion.
Even if it appears to be a hate crime against transgenders or to side with the Philippine citizen against the U.S. citizen. First and foremost, they are both consenting adults whatever pushed for the killing is something beyond my understanding. But please don’t insist PNoy to go to the wake.
I am not pro-Pnoy I have always been against his administration. But this time I am for his decision not to attend the wake. Keep stern on that decision and don’t get persuaded by peer pressure or otherwise.
