To Be Or Not To Be A Melanie Marquez

I saw the news this morning that our 1969 Ms. International Melanie Marquez got married again for the nth time.  This time she married a Chinese guy.  If my memory serves me right she married three different nationalities already, she had an American, European, and now another Asian.

Her lawyer ex-husband the one before this Chinese business man was very loving to her from all the previous TV guesting and stuff they did.  But according to Melanie, she divorced him because they can’t understand each other.  She even joked that she is just living up to her title.

For those who don’t know Melanie is notorious for her popular English carabao as we call it here in the Philippines.  It’s funny that we Filipinos are very particular with how one speaks English well, grammar and pronunciation and stuff and it’s sad that we either look down at those who are having difficulty.

English is considered our second language since most schools use it as a medium of instruction.  Although not everyone can grasp the language or use the language well at least the eagerness to try is there.  I wish everyone can have an opportunity to learn English the right way and not the in thing today which is the text language which is worst than the English carabao.

If people are really serious in learning English they can start at online tutorials like this one being offered at Skype.  The fee is so minimal and there is a free trial lesson.  You can choose your teacher and modules of learning.  I think this is good especially to those who wants to work for a call center or even those who want to go at a country where English is their first language.
