Milk, Childrens Clothing And Supply, Volunteers Needed

I went to a relief center at the border of Marikina and Quezon City today to drop off some clothes and footwear for kids that my daughter outgrown through the years.  Although  I was saddened that the luggage I got was not enough, the piece of paper I got as a proof of my little help fills my heart and I wish everyone to feel the happiness I have now for being able to share and help in my own little way.

It was heart breaking to see how the kids are caught helpless in this calamity.  There was not enough supply for children as most of the relief goods the relief centers are getting are supplies for adults.  With this,   I am asking everyone especially the mom bloggers  and friends to pool their resources, rummage through your baby’s closet and donate your kids old clothes, shoes, and other kids supply such as diapers and milk, underwear and medicines.

Don’t get me wrong all donations are very much needed and appreciated (cooked or easy to prepare food, clothes, blanket, candles, batteries and flashlight) .   But since most of the big companies and organizations are focused now on the rescue operations and  giving food, water and clothing for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy in evacuation centers,  I think it’s time that mom bloggers focus on pooling our resources and drop-off all your kids old stuff to the nearest center near you.

I believe it is best to donate goods and services rather than cash and if you have time to spare you can volunteer as the relief centers and rescue center lacks manpower.

  1. Although late ko na nabasa itong post mo still it breaks my heart knowing there were so many kids affected by ondoy. I admire you Earth for doing your share. kaming mag-asawa puro balak pa lang ang pagpunta. pero si hubby gustong tumuloy sa packing ng relief goods. Thanks for posting this, Earth. Do you think old toys will help? Kasi marami dito sa bahay konti lang ang old clothes dahil napamigay ko na dati pa.
