Global Pinoy Center Launch At SM Fairview

Yesterday the SM Cares Program, which is the umbrella of all corporate social responsibilities of SM Prime Holdings launched the second Global Pinoy Center at SM City Fairview.

The event was graced by Arnel Pineda of Journey, Amanda Colley the 1st Pinay Sole Survivor and Rubylin Amin 2009 Women’s World 10 ball Championship Champion.

What is a Global Pinoy Center?

SM plans to put up Global Pinoy Centers (GPCs) inside the 37 SM Supermalls Nationwide. These GPCs are lounges that aims to serve families and relatives of our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) or Global Pinoy  and will provide among others :

1. Social services such as free legal assistance with regards to requirements on working abroad, their travel to a foreign country, pre-departure orientation seminars. GPCs works hand-in-hand with different government agencies like DOLE, OWWA, POEA and DFA.
2. cultural and communication services and
3. remittance services
4. livelihood sessions and seminars for the Global Pinoy himself and his dependents so they may be better equipped financially.
   
   

The GPCs facility includes:

1. Telephone calls and internet services on limited number of minutes to their Global Pinoy relatives and friends abroad.



2. Foreign currency exchange
3. Lounges for guest to rest and access the free internet
4. Comfort room

How can one get access to the Global Pinoy Center?

Your Global Pinoy Card will give you the exclusive access to the Global Pinoy Center. All you have to do is get an SM Advantage Card, pay the Php 150.00 membership fee and you can get a Global Pinoy Card for free.  However, if you already have an SM Advantage Card you can get your Global Pinoy Card free!

Just present your SM Advantage Card an in less than a minute you will be given your temporary Global Pinoy Card.  You will be issued your permanent card after two weeks and is valid for two (2) years.

If you don’t have an SM Advantage Card you will be asked to present a valid ID (Passport, SSS, Drivers License, OFW ID, OWWA ID, Contract of Employment) and you don’t need to present any proof of remittances from a relative abroad to get the card.
