One-On-One With Charlie Green

I had to admit I wasn’t a fan of Charlie Green or listened to him sing before except for that famous YouTube video of his during his winning moment at Britain’s Got Talent but after his performance last Tuesday, February 10, 2010 at the Eastwood City Open Park last Wednesday I adore this young artist.  Charlie Green indeed got talent.

The songs he sung just melt my heart especially his rendition of  Dahil Sayo (which I uploaded in Facebook) and a his I’m In Love version by Frank Sinatra.  Charlie is such an adorable and humble artist.  After the concert I got the chance to have a one-on-one interview with him and I still see the little boy (although he is just my height!) in him, very sweet and very charmingly boyish, which is good.

We talked about his favorite Filipino food and ” it’s the adobong Manok and the Jollibee spaghetti” Charlie giggles with his English accent.

“Some people think that I got my singing from my Filipina mom, but noooooooooo.  I got it from my dad,” he laughed as he told us that we don’t want to hear her mom singing.    His dad is Roger Green, he used to be a singer with the Black and White Minstral Show. Roger now produces cabaret shows for cruise ships where he and Charlie often perform (not together).

Charlie Green will be 13 on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 and I am so lucky to be invited by his up-coming album producer the Christian de Walden , who will be responsible for his upcoming album from Viva Records that will be out in May 2010.

Charlie’s upcoming album will have 14 songs, with 4 original songs. Expect this album to be something different from what he usually does as he will be singing some pop here, he said.

You can hear Charlie’s mezmerizing voice at the Venice Piazza at McKinley Hills, Fort Bonifacio tonight February 12, 2010  at 7PM and you can catch him at the Pinoy Big Brother on Saturday.

He is so sweet. After his performance we went to He is so sweet. After his performance we went to Big Fish to have dinner. His fans followed us and flanked the window of the resto. At this shot he was waving at them later on he got close to the window and the people took the opportunity to have photos “with” him and he entertained everyone. He wasn’t able to eat his dinner because he is so hospitable, very Filipino.
