A Mother’s Day Gift

Mother’s Day is around the corner and I get to remember how I am missing out some fun surprises other moms in the world are able to enjoy.  I’m one of the moms who will have to wait for other moms and other kids to greet me a happy mother’s day because my daughter can not greet me for now or surprise me with her mother’s day gifts, gimmicks and surprises because of her condition.

I’m sad in a way but not really really sad because my daughter makes me feel special everyday because of her many special ways.  Her milestones, which is not the average milestone every average child in the world experience,  like being able to say Pooh and Piglet while reading to her their storybook is such a great mother’s day gift to me.  But of course you can’t blame me if I, at the back of my mind wish that one day  she can talk and be aware of the special dates and surprise me with a mother’s day gift and greeting.  That will be the day I will have to throw a party to celebrate mother’s day, what a joy!  I wish and pray. Amen!

So while secretly wishing for my own mother’s day card, I will have to plan something for my mom or give her something she enjoys.  She is so easy to please a bouquet of flowers will make her day, a print-out of her pretty fotos  makes her happy, a greeting card will make her happy, a shopping spree at the Ukay-Ukay  makes her happy, cash makes her happy!  It’s not really hard for me to think of what to give my mom for mother’s day.

How about you? Do you have any plans for your moms on Mother’s Day yet?

  1. My son has AS.. Asbergers Syndrome. As you I wished when he was young, to talk and so much more, well here so much more for us has happened, He achieved his GED and now is going to college, he wants to be a phlebotomist. Patience is the best approach. I wish you both well and my heart is in your corner.

  2. Very good post, I can feel the happiness your daughter gave you. And I believe she will love you as you love her when she grow up. Lucky you!
To me, I will order some flower for my mom as we are not in the same country currently.
Have fun in your mother’s day party!
