I’ve always been intimidated with anything mineral makeup or loose powder makeup. I always thought there’s a special way to apply a mineral makeup that I shy away from using it. Loose powder on the other hand reminds me of the baby powder I used to apply generously on my face in high school that I almost look like a mime because its too white.
Anyway, when I got Revlon ColorStay Aqua Mineral Makeup almost a month ago I’ve to give it a try.
Product Info:
NEW Colorstay Aqua™ Mineral Makeup delivers a burst of hydrating coconut water and an instant cooling sensation upon application. The result: your skin looks luminous and its texture smoother. With a shine-free formula that’s made with water, not oil, this lightweight powder gives you a fresh, flawless finish that lasts all day. Fragrance free and non-irritating. Provides medium coverage in 8 beautiful shades, with SPF 13 protection.
Color Swatches:
I got the medium shade. Other shades available are fair, fair light, light, light medium, light medium/medium, medium, medium deep, & deep.
On my face:
I used the cap to get the powder and swirl the brush on it and tap off the excess powder. I applied it with short strokes to get an even coverage.
What I think about it?
- I like the cool/wet feel when its applied although some people may find it weird. You don’t have to worry because that wet thing feel is “aqua” (water) not oil.
- I also love the light shimmer effect on the face , it gives me a luminous glow.
- The powder stays on all day, I realized I did not have to reapply, all I need is an oil control film when I get to hot & humid place and I start sweating.
- I love the fact that it comes with its own brush so I don’t need to worry which is the best brush to use with it.
- I like that it comes in a transparent container so you can actually see how much is left.
- Close very tightly or it gets messy on the cap.
- I like that the coverage is medium and not so heavy, perfect to wear everyday especially because it as SPF13!
This was the powder I used when I went to see the Green Zone opening for the Green Lantern movie at Glorietta and during the Nuffnang Family day at Crosswinds Tagaytay.
Will I recommend it?
I recommend this if you have normal/good skin. You don’t need heavy coverage this ones good to give you that “glow” you are looking for. But I heard if you have oily skin this may be not good for you as it need to be reapplied often or you may have to use a liquid foundation first before applying this as a setting powder. It’s sold at Php1,299.00.
So, have you tried the ColorStay Aqua already? Did you like it?
