2011 MTV VMAs Fashion Showcase

I wasn’t able to see the MTV VMA’s but I’ve read news and tweets and seen photos and wow its one helluva Fashion Showcase again!  I’m downloading a replay of the show because it looks so much fun!

Here’s my pick for the fun and best dressed peeps!

Katy Perry who went Geisha with her Versace Atelier outfit!

Her baby-blue Versace Atelier dress is  covered in cherry blossoms, green trimmings and twinkling crystals . Her hair was accesorised with pink flowers and a killer Jimmy Choo sandals!  Lurve!  Her hair is dyed light purple!

Then, the fun and amazing Katy P changed to another outfit  from Christian Dior’s A/W’11 couture when she claimed her  Best Video award!

I super love Katy Perry and her fun outfit. A cheese-like fascinator by Stephen Jones + pink jacket with mint green lining and an oversized yellow button + a black and white printed skirt + multi-coloured Giuseppe Zanotti wedges (phewf!) = Liquorice Allsorts fabness. Bravo!

Nicki Minaj

BUT Nicki Minaj was in town doing her best to snatch The Kooky Crown by apparently raiding a Harajuku nursery. It’s hard to accurately decipher her umm, ensemble, but we’re seeing multi-coloured mounds of hair, a Shojono Tomo mask, an ice cream necklace, a pointy mirrored contraption over a pink tutu plus printed tights and socks. Oh, and a tail of stuffed toys. Was she trying to make up for Gaga‘s minimalism by going over the edge of edgy?!

Beyonce

In a red Lanvil one-shoulder long dress and a baby bump!

Adele 

In the more demure corner, three cheers for Adele who was backing British in a black Burberry frock with a geometric pattern on the neckline. And would you look at that hair?! What a brilliant bouffant she has.

Katie Holmes

Uhmm what’s wrong here?  I love her dress  , glowy tan and wicked Azzedine Alaia dress, but something went wrong with the shoes she wore, a clompy Proenza Schouler.  And what is she doing in the MTV VMAs?

Britney Spears

Her  sequin-covered Moschino romper was fab but pairing it with the mid-calf Gina boots is a whoops, she did it again! She actually look like one of those park models.

Miley Cyrus

Went classy with her floor lenght, long sleeved Roberto Cavalli’s Pre-Fall collection dressed adorened with a mix of prints, from leopard to floral.  Then finished off the look with a Lorraine Schwartz choker and drop earrings.

Selena Gomez

I think her outfit is gorgeous.   A gothic creation from Julien MacDonald’s Autumn/Winter 2011 catwalk.  From the high neckline to the lace detailing and mullet skirt, this one’s all about the drama-rama. The gold accessories – Brian Atwood heels, Judith Leiber metallic clutch, Lorraine Schwartz drop earrings

Kelly Rowland

In black Falguni & Shane Peacock stunner consisting of a feathered-and-leathered skirt, a sheer top and lashings of gold embroidery.

Wore a a tweed tunic from Barbara Bui’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection, funked up by gold, silver and leather strips, snazzy snake-skin heels and those killer legs.

Kim Kardashian

In a silver Kaufman Franco gown accented by an identical cuff
