To commemorate the 10th year anniversary of that heart breaking moment of 9/11, the US government with the help of the New York City governance put in place a Memorial Pool at Ground Zero.
Once a black hole of despair, the place where the world Trade Center in New York crashed before our very eyes will now become the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero, a site which millions once associated with death, devastation and abject terror but has now transformed into a place of peace, tranquillity and sadness.
Here are some photos taken the morning of September 11 in U.S. at ground zero memorial pool and park. (from AP, AFP, Reuters , and Xinhua)
Ground Zero 10 years after the tradegy
The names of the departed are engraved on the sides of the pool. The pool is not meant for swimming its actually an overflowing waterfall, signifying the unending and the million tears shed during, before and after 9/11.
This one is their future plans for Ground Zero.
My heart and prayers goes to the families, relatives and friends of those who lost a loved in 9/11 10 years ago. I know it was long ago but the pain still remains.

Pag sinabing 9/11 it still gives me goosebumps. 🙁
we all pray for the families and relatives of those who passed away from this tragic accident which still haunts us up to this day. Let’s pray for them.
Ang ganda naman ng interpretation nila about the pool. It feels so sad though pa rin, especially when they show the 9/11 documentaries.
You know Earth I was shocked to see footages of this even knowing I have relatives in the States. Luckly one of my relative didn’t come to work that day because of her daughter is sick. She’s so lucky that day or else she’s one of those people listed on the memorial site.
10 years after, kinikilabutan pa rin ako kapag naiisip ko ang trahedyang ito. But I’m not sure if the Philippine government and the Filipinos really learned from that horrible experience.
