The Freeway Art x Levi Celerio would be the 7th of the National Artist Collection Series (NACS) since Freeway introduced the NACS in 2009. I’ve always supported them with every launch as I am a staunch supporter of Philippine brands, culture, artist and talent. The Freeway Art events is one of my favorite events that I’ve consistently attended and they always have an interesting way to give tribute to our country’s National Artist and introducing to the young generation Philippine culture through fashion.
The event was hosted by former Freeway model Giselle Tongi. She was joined by special guest Dr. Antonio Hila, Cultural Historian and a Music Critic who shared interesting talks and trivia about Celerio and his dedication and intense love for music. Family and friends of the late Mang Levi was also present at the event.
In the past years, the series featured National Artists Nick Joaquin (Literature), Ang Kiukok (Visual Arts), Jose Garcia Villa (Literature), Ramon Valera (Fashion Design), F. Sionil José (Literature) and Vicente Manansala (Visual Arts). For Fall 2012 Collection of the National Artist Collectors’ Series, Freeway features the works of National Artist for Music, Levi Celerio. (click on the links to see the collection and the events)
The guests composed of bloggers, members of the press and music enthusiast, were treated to delectable cocktail servings and took home a cute Freeway x Celerio memorabilia – a limited edition Miniature Harmonica Levi Celerio pendant that actually works! I super love it!
