A very hister day transpired during our roadtrip to Pancake House Lipa Batangas yesterday.
If you’ve seen the movie ‘Almost Famous’ you know what my hipster reference is all about. If not, the movie was about the adventures of a Rolling Stone writer following a rock band on a roadshow for a ‘life in a day of a rockstar kind of article’ for the magazine. It will show you what literally happens while the band is on the road inside their party bus, the only means of traveling used by rockstars back then to do a state to state concert. Having lots of time on the road in their ‘party bus’ all sorts of fun and drama happens.
Fast forward to today, party buses are now only used for luxury one-of-a-kind partying experience. Used at wedding showers or pub-crawling in the city.
While I am not a rockstar or having a bridal shower at that, I was able to experience a hipster ride in the Black Fleet with a few fellow bloggers. It was our ride for a trip to Lipa, Batangas from Metro Manila and back to visit the first Pancake House store in Lipa carrying the new look and feels under the Max’s Group of Company!
So what’s so special about this Pancake House beanch that we have to travel by The Black Fleet?
The branch in Lipa Is the first to feature the famed restaurant’s new look. From the logo down to the landscaping details, Pancake House has managed to start anew while staying loyal to its roots.
Shack, Shelter, Shed
The Inspiration for Pancake’s new look came to Jim Furntebella (Branding Director of Max’s Group Inc) upon seeing the construction space for its branch in Lipa City. He describes, “Its long and narrow facade reminded me of a shed.Jim continues: “The first three words that came to mind was shack (functionality), shelter (comfort), and shed (accessibility). If you look at the things those words are associated with, they are actually the same things used to describe Pancake House.”According to Jim, the brand’s new design concept is all about comfort and finding a place where everything one needs is already there—just tike home.
The new old
The logo, on the other hand, now shows a new interpretation of the restaurant’s famed house symbol,While the look changed the taste of our all-time favorites never changed. This Crab ans Mango Salad is my favorite.
Pancake House CrepeThe famous Spaghetti! Shakes and Roast BeefIt was a coincidence to dine with Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste at the Pancake House who said he frequents Pancake House because it is a comfort food for him and his family. Having sweets or pancakes with the pair of kapeng Barako from Batangas is something he always enjoy, he said.Max’s Group Inc led by Bobby Simborio with Vice Governor Mark Leviste and son at Pancake House Lipa Batangas
Vice Governor Mark Leviste was curious about The Black Fleet so we let him have a peek inside and have a party with us! Haha!
We did not tour around Lipa as time is short but we are waiting for Vice Gov invite as he said he would. He also head the Tourism Council of Lipa he said.
Here is a short video clip to show you more about The Black Fleet ride
