Movie In Review: Angels And Demons

Angels and Demons is the second part of a four book series written by Dan Brown. It is one of the most controversial books he wrote as aside from pointing out the silent war between science and religion it enumerates so many anomalies behind the secret walls of the Vatican and the Roman Catholic. This is a two hour crime, drama, mystery, and thriller  by Columbia Pictures.

Characters:
Tom Hanks – Robert Langdon
Ewan McGregor – Camerlengo Patrick McKenna
Ayelet Zurer –  Vittoria Vetra
Stellan Skarsgård – Commander Richter
Pierfrancesco Favino – Inspector Olivetti
Nikolaj Lie Kaas –  Assassin

I loved the movie as much as I loved the book. Angels and Demons the movie met my expectations! Bravo! There’s no dull or dead moment every minute of the two hour movie was consumed very well. It was far different from The Da Vinci Code, personally I think the DaVinci Code the movie was very boring.

The movie made a few adjustment from the book but as it is it did not change the entire essence of the novel. The execution of the movie was well done it was the same feeling I got while reading the book.

Carmerlengo Patrick Mckennon

If you haven’t read the book yet well you can either read the book first and watch the movie so you can appreciate it the better. But you can also watch the movie and read the book after. The difference were very minimal although the beginning of the movie started from the middle of the book and all of the important other aspects of the book were made into flashback kinda thing.

Angels and Demons Illuminati Church

The location is perfect although most of the scenes were not entirely shot at the place they were supposed to be in the book since the Vatican did not grant the permit to do the movie on the actual place. Watching it was like seeing the book come to life. The tomb, the achieves, the churches, the merciless branding and killings.

The effects were great. A little spoiler: I was actually anticipating how will they do the helicopter scene with the Carmalengo and the antimatter. It was all so perfectly executed. The explosion was actually better than I imagined. Words could not actually express how I was happy with how the movie was done.

Air

Tom Hanks did the role much better now compared to when he did DaVici. Vittoria also complimented the movie well. Ewan McGregor did a great job in this too. Watch out for the appearances of the ambigrams of Earth, Water, Air and Fire and the mystery symbol.

Please watch it, you don’t have to be religious to enjoy the movie. The elements of mystery, crime, suspense, thriller and drama is all there. It’s really really good! I love it!

  1. ok, gorgeous, let’s put it right
there is no series, only the two novels having in common nothing but the main character and the author’s issues with Catholic Church.
the other two, Digital Fortress and Deception Point, have no connection whatsoever, neither between them, nor with the other two. besides, they differ so much from the spiritual environment of Angels and Demons and The DaVinci code, they have a totally scientific approach, sometimes too technical for some ppl taste…
oh, and the chronological order of his writing the novels is: Digital Fortress (1998), Angels & Demons (2000), Deception Point (2001) and The Da Vinci Code (2003). The Lost Symbol is due in September 2009.
    so much for the series…

sorry gorgeous, I didn’t understand your last phrase, I don’t speak your language.
