Shoppers residing in the Northeastern Metro Manila now have their own destination to shop, dine and relax with the entire family. Thanks to SM chairman Henry Sy Sr. for bringing the SM Supermalls close to home. SM City Fairview, which is built on a 20 hectare site at the intersection of Quirino Avenue and Regalado Avenue in Quezon City, can now be easily reached by residents living in the Fairview, Novaliches, North Caloocan, and Bulacan.
Being one of the 649,716 families living in the 400 subdivisions and villages within the 8 kilometer radius from SM Fairview this is a welcomed destination. They no longer have to travel an hour or so to relax and unwind after a long work week during a weekend. With the latest expansion of the Annex 1 and Annex 2 now dubbed The Annex the fun and exciting opportunity for shopping, dining and entertaining are boundless. The expansion also made SM Fairview the 4th largest SM Supermall in the country to date that is also Wi-Fi enabled.
They got it all for you!
When SM Fairview was built in 1997 it already secured a place for the major retail anchors of the SM Supermalls, particularly the SM Department Store (at the ground and second level of the mall), SM Supermarket (at the basement) and SM Food Court (at the basement) in place. Bringing with them the tradition of service, quality goods and reasonable prices, one-stop shopping and a steady area that offers good food fast. Banco de Oro, SM Appliance Center, SM Cinema/ SM Cineplex, SM Bowling Center, Our Home, Toy Kingdom, Watsons, Surplus Shop, Sports Central were also there ready to serve every shoppers needs. What can you ask for a bank when “They got it all for you!”
In November 2008, Annex 2 was opened to serve as the upscale shopping, dining and entertainment wing of SM Fairview. This area occupying more 11,748 square meters of land, will house more than 70 tenants highlighting premium local and imported top-of-the-line fashion and life-style shops, specialty stores, special interest and tutoring schools, audio-visual showrooms, wellness spas, beauty salons, as well as medical services.
The biggest home construction and home building supplier in the country Ace Builders Center can be found at the Annex 2 and opposite is Banco de oro while SM Hypermarket is found at the Annex 1 and just recently they opened a Medical City at the lower ground floor main mall. All contributing to making this world-class mall a truly one-stop shopping destination for every need.
Going Green
Renovations are on-going to give shoppers a better malling experience. If their competitor is going down they are going up. Plans for the new mall will make use of natural lighting to lessen electric consumption and create a more vibrant receptive, happy, and healthy atmosphere. At present, SM Fairview already did major renovation that makes use of larger windows that provides natural light and better ventilation and changed the dark flooring to a lighter one.
The SM Cinema/SM Cineplex located at the second level, has 12 theaters at present and will soon undergo a major renovation. It would be great if the 3rd IMAX theater.
The Palm Strip
SM Fairview offers an area for Al Fresco dining and entertainment area which is lined with palm trees, therefore the name. This can be found at the ground level of the mall just outside the Annex 1 and connected to the string of restaurants along the strip of the mall overlooking the busy streets of Quirino Highway. The Palm Strip offers Al Fresco dining to families and young professionals
SM Storyland
Residents from Northeastern Manila no longer have to travel to the South to be able to enjoy an indoor theme park . Thanks to SM Fairview for bringing the SM Storyland closer. It is at the at the third level of the center mall where me and my daughter often visit for a ride! Her favorite ride is the Silver Streak which was then called the Meteor Express. It’s a mini-roller coaster ride that even adults could get an adrenalin rush. A carousel, a train, bump car, and mini-Ferris wheel can also be found at the Storyland.
SM Fairview was designed by Palafox and Associates with DM Consunji as contractors and F/M Associates as design consultants.
