It doesn’t matter where you are in the world as long as you are Filipino, President Corazon “Cory” Cojuanco-Aquino is significant to our lives. I know some would want to to take a last look at the former President Cory Aquino, the woman behind the EDSA Revolution in 1986, the woman who reconciled every Filipino in the world until her death.

Here is a place for you to send your sentiments and mourn. Here are some links where you can view the outpouring of love and gratitude for Cory was during her funeral convoy from La Salle Greenhills, to Ayala Avenue Makati City, to Manila Cathedral. This is great. Thank you for creating this wake on line. I am in overseas and deeply sad about the passing of our beloved President Cory. I feel I am crying and lost one of the most important person in my life. I adore her so much. I regret that I was not there now to pay last respect to her. In her years of presidency and until now we can feel her honesty, sincerity, love to our country and filipino people. President Cory will be remembered always. She will be always in every hearth and mind of peace loving people. “I LOVE YOU PRESIDENT CORY”

Global virtual wake held
By Helen Flores (The Philippine Star) Updated August 04, 2009 12:00 AM
MANILA, Philippines – A Filipino businessman, who had handled several youth-oriented programs of the late President Corazon Aquino during her term, has created a “virtual wake” on Facebook to allow members worldwide to offer prayers and send messages online for the former leader.
JJ Soriano, chairman of In-store Digital Display International (IDDI) Inc. based in Manila, said the Facebook account has benefited those who cannot physically attend the wake of Mrs. Aquino.
Interested Facebook users may visit the “Global Wake for Cory Aquino in Cyberspace” at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=117810016891.
The 47-year-old Soriano said he came up with the idea of putting up the Facebook account shortly after Mrs. Aquino’s death.
Mrs. Aquino succumbed to cardiac arrest from colon cancer complications last Aug. 1. She was 76.
“I created a virtual wake online on Facebook at about 6 p.m. on Aug. 1 after visiting her at Heritage Park and La Salle for those who are unable to go physically to the wake of Cory,” Soriano told The STAR.
Soriano said that as of yesterday about 1,000 people worldwide, including California-based broadcast journalist Gel Santos-Relos, have sent messages and prayers for Mrs. Aquino.
He said many account holders have uploaded photos and related stories about Mrs. Aquino.
Soriano said he had also helped the late president in her other advocacies.
Facebook is a social networking website owned and operated by Facebook Inc. It claims more than 250 million active users worldwide. There are reportedly around 600,000 Facebook users in the Philippines.
