ASICS Foot Scan ID And Gender Specific Shoes

Until recently, majority of running shoes for women were simply smaller versions of men’s shoes. The Foot Scan ID system utilizes a cross-section to measure all aspects of a person’s foot. One simply needs to stand on two pads found on the scanner, and information is then entered into the database. Additional data on a person’s running gait is collected after running on a special treadmill. A highly trained staff member interprets the information gathered, and will match the runner with a recommended Asics shoe.

My Foot Scan ID experience
We were asked to remove our footwear and stand on a platform with a scanner. On the computer screen you will see your feet and you should straighten your foot according to the guide. You should stand straight to get your weight right and get all your measurements correct.

According to their scanner I am a size 5, meaning they recommend if in case I want to buy a running shoe or any sport shoes from them I should pick a size 5. That size includes the right space allowance my feet needs to have maximum support and comfort.

Normally when it comes to closed shoes or rubber shoes that needs socks I choose size 5 but for open toes or sandals and heels I am a size 4 or 41/2 I would be very very lucky if all size 5 in any shoe store fits me but well I only get a size 5 by chance.
